Babies that Brush!

Baby Photos Wanted…

Help us to Promote Better Oral Health for Babies & Young Children!

We need your help- we need photographs of your adorable (cheeky) under 5’s brushing their teeth…Why? So we can help to encourage and inspire parents across our amazing city to improve their children’s oral health.

Send us photographs of your little ones brushing their teeth to if you are happy for us to share your picture on social media, our website and possibly as part of a display in our waiting area. We can use your child’s first name and age if you consent. The idea is to collect and post as many pictures as possible so we can start a ‘teeth-brushing trend’.

We are proud to support NHS England’s new ‘Starting Well: A Smile4Life Initiative’. This campaign aims to increase the number of very young children and babies who are registered with a dentist.

Across the country there are big levels in inequality in the oral health of under 5’s and the North West has been highlighted as one of the problem areas. When we see children as young as 2 requiring tooth extractions, we feel the need to offer as much help and support as we can to parents, carers and children.

As well as helping to educate families with young children about how to prevent tooth decay, good oral hygiene habits and reducing sugar intake, we also hope to encourage more people to register their babies with a dentist. Once those ‘milk teeth’ appear, babies should be brought to visit a dentist- this helps to get them used to the environment and helps to remove the risk of future anxieties.

The amount of children who do not see a dentist is both sad and avoidable since NHS treatment for under 18s is free. We are currently accepting new patients both NHS and private and would appreciate it if you could let your friends and family members know about this.

New patients can also register by calling 0151 228 3643 or downloading the relevant forms from our website:
